How to write a good report
A clear report reaches the right people faster.
- Say what is wrong and where: the village, ward or landmark.
- Say since when, and how many people it affects.
- Add a clear photo and drop a pin on the map if you can.
- Tick the safety box if anyone is at risk, so it is looked at first.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account to report a problem?
- No. You can report without an account; keep the reference code to follow it. An account lets you see all your reports in one place.
- Can I report in Hindi?
- Yes. Every page is in Hindi and English. You can write your report in Hindi, in English, or in Hindi typed with English letters (like “paani nahi aa raha”), or just speak it. Updates come back in the language you reported in.
- How does my report reach the right people?
- Akhra suggests a category and your district officer checks it. Then it goes one of two ways: to the department that can fix it directly, or, when something new has to be built, to the universities that know the subject best and are closest to you. Your tracker shows where it went.
- What if someone already reported the same problem?
- Your district officer joins the two into one case. You keep your own reference code, your report shows which one it joined, and you get every update on it.
- I lost my reference code. What can I do?
- If you gave an email address, the code is in the confirmation email. If you reported while signed in, it is under My reports. Otherwise it cannot be recovered, so note it down when you report.
- Can I see what is actually being done?
- Yes. Once the district officer approves the team’s proposal, your tracker shows all of it: what they plan to build and how, the steps they set for themselves, every test they ran, including the ones that failed, and what changed in the end.
- What happens when the department says it is fixed?
- The report waits for your answer. Confirm it and the report closes. If it is still not right, say what is wrong and it goes back to the department. No one else can close it for you.
- Is my phone number public?
- No. Your mobile number and email address are never shown on public pages.
- How can my university or company join?
- Through an agreement with the state department that runs Akhra. The state then sends your administrator an invitation, and your administrator invites colleagues.
